2024 Year in Review: A Year of Connection, Growth, and Transformation
Wow. What a year.
I’m sitting here, reflecting on 2024, with my trusty cup of tea (okay, fine, it’s maple flavored coffee), wondering how I’m supposed to sum up a year so full of magic, milestones, and a few moments of utter chaos. From personal travels to professional triumphs, family celebrations, and deeply meaningful collaborations, 2024 was a whirlwind of growth, connection, and transformation—not just for me, but for the incredible community of women I’ve been privileged to work with.
Let’s dive into some highlights from this unforgettable year.
Personal Adventures: A Year of Exploration
Quebec City with my Bestie
My year kicked off with a much-needed girls’ getaway to Quebec City with my bestie, Tamara. Think snow filled cobblestone streets, cozy cafes, and hours of belly laughs. It was one of those trips that reminds you why friendship is one of life’s greatest treasures. And let’s not forget the croissants and poutine—because when in Quebec, carbs don’t count, right?
A Women’s Retreat in Stowe, Vermont
In February, I joined a retreat in Stowe, Vermont, with an awesome group of women and it was nothing short of transformative. Picture this: snowy mountains, roaring fireplaces, and a room full of powerful women sharing their stories. It was a beautiful reminder of the magic that happens when we take time for ourselves and connect with others. This retreat created a really strong support system for me of other women in business that I have been leaning on and leaning into all year.
A Sky Full of Wonder: The Total Solar Eclipse
In April, Burlington Vermont, was treated to a total solar eclipse. Let me tell you, there’s nothing like standing outside with your family, friends, and neighbors, collectively holding your breath as the world goes dark for a few fleeting moments. It was a beautiful reminder of how small (and yet connected) we all are under this big, brilliant sky.
Travel with Clients: From Costa Rica to Morocco
2024 wasn’t just about personal travel—it was also an incredible year for client retreats.
Nosara, Costa Rica
In the spring, we kicked things off in Nosara, Costa Rica. This trip was all about mindfulness and connection, with daily yoga sessions overlooking the Pacific and plenty of time to soak up the “pura vida” lifestyle. Watching my clients rediscover their sense of calm and purpose in this tropical paradise was nothing short of inspiring.
Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, Italy
In early summer, we headed to Italy, where Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast stole our hearts. From exploring charming villages to indulging in the world’s best gelato, this retreat was the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Seeing my clients step into their confidence and embrace the “dolce vita” was a highlight of my year.
Marrakesh, Morocco
And then, there was Marrakesh. This vibrant, sensory-rich city was the backdrop for one of the most transformative retreats I’ve ever hosted. We wandered through colorful souks, marveled at stunning riads, and spent evenings sharing stories under the Moroccan stars. It was my second time there and it keeps getting better. It was a reminder that stepping out of your comfort zone is where the magic happens.
Professional Milestones: Sharing My Voice
2024 was also the year I stepped onto more stages, sharing my passion for retreats, wellness, and empowering women.
NAWIC Convention
Speaking at the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) convention was a career highlight. I loved connecting with a room full of trailblazing women and sharing insights about finding balance and purpose in demanding industries.
EWomen Hartford Chapter
This year also brought me to the EWomen Hartford Chapter, where I met some of the most inspiring women I’ve ever had the pleasure of speaking to. Their energy, curiosity, and openness were contagious.
EWomen Burlington Chapter
And, of course, I can’t forget my own EWomen Burlington Chapter. Hosting events and sharing stories with this incredible group of women right here in Vermont is always a special kind of joy.
Building Community: From Peri-Parties to Spa Nights
Peri-Parties at She Works
In June, I started hosting monthly Peri-Parties at She Works, and they quickly became one of my favorite projects. These gatherings are all about raising awareness of women’s health and wellness, particularly around perimenopause (because let’s face it, we’re not talking about this stuff enough). The conversations have been raw, real, and deeply needed—and the community we’re building? Absolutely priceless.
Collaborating with The Essex Resort and Spa
Another highlight of 2024 was partnering with The Essex Resort and Spa to create Spa Nights for Women Over 40. These evenings were all about relaxation, connection, and self-care. And the best part? They culminated in planning a three-day retreat for March 2025—a project that has my heart bursting with excitement.
Family Highlights: Proud Mom Moments
My family was a huge source of joy this year (as always). Watching Ava and Noa shine on stage made my heart swell with pride.
Ava’s Performances: Ava dazzled in Anastasia and Alice By Heart, proving once again that her talent and passion for storytelling know no bounds. Watching her perform is like witnessing pure magic.
Noa as the Fairy Godmother: Noa brought the house down as the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella at BAE in NYC. Her humor, grace, and stage presence left me (and the audience) in awe.
And then there’s Patrick—my rock, my partner, my best friend. No matter how busy or chaotic life gets, his steady presence reminds me to stay grounded and grateful.
Reflections and Gratitude
Looking back on 2024, I’m struck by how much can happen in just 12 months. There were moments of growth, challenge, and pure joy. There were quiet mornings sipping coffee and late nights brainstorming new ideas. There were tears (some happy, some not-so-happy) and laughter (always lots of laughter).
Through it all, I’ve been surrounded by an incredible community of family, friends, and clients who inspire me every day. Whether we were walking through Costa Rican jungles, wandering Italian streets, or simply sitting in a circle sharing our stories, the connections we built this year are what I’ll treasure most.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As I close the chapter on 2024, I’m already looking ahead to what’s next. The March retreat at The Essex Resort and Spa is shaping up to be something truly special, and I can’t wait to continue growing my Peri-Parties, and Spa Events.
But more than anything, I’m excited to keep doing what I love: creating spaces where women can pause, reflect, and rediscover their power. Because at the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about—helping each other shine, one retreat, one conversation, one connection at a time.
